Perched within the alpine landscape of Dinner Plain, this A-frame house is conceived as a contemporary expression of the High Country’s heritage huts — honest, enduring, and deeply connected to place. Clad in galvanised iron sheeting, the form is both protective and sculptural, its robust skin designed to weather the snow, wind, and shifting seasons with quiet resilience.

Inside, soaring timber-lined ceilings create a sense of warmth and lightness, their natural texture grounding the space in the surrounding landscape. Generous glazing frames the ever-changing alpine scenery — snow-laden gums, crisp skies, and soft morning light — inviting a constant dialogue between shelter and nature.

This is a home for retreat and reconnection: durable yet welcoming, refined yet unpretentious. We believe that architecture can heighten the experience of place, bring joy to the everyday rituals of mountain life, and provide enduring comfort after days spent skiing, hiking, or simply watching the weather roll through the ranges.
